AuctionAds

Still trying out different money making ideas on this site, and what deserves to be here and what doesn't. Nothing going out the window today but something new has been added... AuctionAds.

I have seen Text-Link-Ads many times while surfing blogs and not given it a go yet so today I signed up. Now, it informs me my little Blog Quest doesn't get enough traffic or have enough links or PageRank or whatever to qualify yet (so start linking to me, people!!) but it seems they have recently acquired AuctionAds.com which does look interesting. You can see (currently) at the top of my right-hand column what it is. You can choose keywords which will decide what is displayed so that it is in-keeping with your site or blog. Click here to give it a whirl for yourself and post comments on how it works out for you and I will be doing the same here myself. At the time of writing they deposit $5 into your account to get you started and you can cash out as soon as you reach $25, either by a mailed cheque or even better via Paypal with no fees.

Give it a spin and let me and my readers know how it is working out for you!

Simon.

*** Edit to this post: firstly, I forgot to mention that they credit your account with $5 straight away after you sign up ... and secondly I have made 13 cents with stats of 22 impressions, 2 clicks and NO referrals. Not a large amount of money but for the second day of having it on the site I think that's a pretty good start. Definitely give this one a go! ***

BigFishGames goes bye-bye

You may have noticed in the right-hand column a panel for BigFishGames. So far this has done no business and I've had enough of that with Agloco! It's time for non-performing elements to hit the road and theirs is the first casualty.
I haven't had much time to play with TreasureTrooper so earnings haven't been racking up with that one but after the holiday season I will be back to it - the link is on the right hand side of the site so if you haven't had a crack at it yet then hit the link and sign up. There is free money to be made there!
Work on the company website is taking up most of my time, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), getting backlinks out there etc. but the upside of that is I am learning as I go along and will post any useful stuff or sites/tools on here for everyone's benefit once I see them returning results. I'm just too good to you people!!
Get some comments in too... all are appreciated :-D

Surveys - easy cash!!

Hi, as I've previuosly said, I've been trying out God only knows how many different sites etc. and one that stands out so far is Valued Opinions. It's a .co.uk site so I don't know if it's any use to US citizens etc or just the UK, it's still early days yet for me and these guys. Anyway, you get paid for taking the surveys, I've seen £1 and £1.50 ones so far (so not pennies or having to rack up thousands of points to earn a couple of quid/bucks) plus you also get entered into prize draws. Now don't get me wrong I don't expect to win anything in these draws but you get entered as well as getting paid so what the heck? I don't have an affiliate link for this one, just wanted to throw it in for the UK guys as we can struggle to find money earners that aren't US-only !!

I'll be taking all the surveys they throw at me and adding earnings to the Earnings panel at the bottom of this page so keep an eye or just give them a go yourself straight away.

Google

Yipee ... just noticed that Yet Another Money Making Blog Quest has been picked up by Google!

Adsense

As you may have noticed from the Earnings panel at the bottom of this page I have made a little money from Adsense. I haven't set it up on this site yet, that money has come from another site.
Do you have any advice or experience with Adsense to share with me and my readers? If so, please use the comments feature on this post to impart your wisdom!!

Thanks,
Simon.

New sites

On my Quest I am coming across new sites all the time. I have at any one time at least a dozen windows / Firefox tabs open as I try to compare and separate the wheat from the chaff.

I've found one or two that pay £1 or more per survey so I've signed up and I'm waiting for the surveys to start coming through so I can report my progress.

A lot of sites look like hours and hours of work with not much of a payout at the end so when I find these I will let you know too.

Later.

Treasure Trooper

After being too busy to sit at the computer plugging away at surveys etc. I've found a bit of time to have a go at Treasure Trooper. What have I discovered? Well, go for the Cash Offers first! They require (generally) no purchase or investment. Hey, we're here to earn money not spend it!!

After consultation with a friend who is doing rather nicely at TT I can report the following few tips:

Only do a few offers a day.

Clear your cookies out after doing these offers.

Leave TT until the next day then... repeat the process.

Some offers have approved already and you can see this in my Earnings panel at the bottom of this page. I was on about 30 cents and now it's jumped to $5.30 with some offers still pending.
Nice work for sitting on your bum and typing & clicking!

More later, click the links on the right to join Treasure Trooper for yourself and start earning now but bear in mind the tips above to make sure all earnings do actually pay out.

Earnings

I have added a panel right at the bottom of the page with my earnings to date. Note that I haven't had much time to participate in the different programs since starting this blog! I've been having a go at TreasureTrooper this evening and my earnings and Gold Coins / Pearls should start coming in soon so I'll be updating them down there in my Earnings panel. Have a look!

CashCrate

I keep reading again and again that the GPT (Get Paid To) scheme that earns people the most money is CashCrate. In the face of this, it would be silly not to jump on board so I just signed up.

I have just signed up with one offer to test the water, it pays 40 cents but doesn't seem to need anything from me like credit card details. There are other offers that pay $15 and $20 on offer to me which I will get to after I see how this one goes. You can earn from referring people and make 20% of what they earn at no cost to them, and 10% of the earnings of those who they refer also. You can move up to higher percentages after referring so many under you which provides an incentive to go and get em!

If you're in the UK the number of offers may be limited like most sites, I will have to look into it before I can comment.

Give it a whirl if you haven't already joined it and come back to tell me how it's going.

TreasureTrooper

I'm giving TreasureTrooper a spin, as I've read a fair amount of good stuff about it on other people's blogs. Some of the highest earnings I have found so far (and proof) can be seen on Nothing Fancy... and I've passed a few emails back and forth with the site owner who has been very helpful. The site is well put together and has some good information about GPT stuff which is all well worth a read. This is why I chose to put their link here, when people are nice and helpful nice things happen to them! Swing by and say I sent you, then pop back and post here with your thought.

Anyway, back to TreasureTrooper ... there seems to be lots you can do to earn money there. You can of course refer others, and I've had my first 1st level referral. One down, the rest of the internet to go! You can also take part in surveys which looks like it could be fun. There are also sort of competitions and games to take part in. I haven't yet tried the comps and have signed up with one survey company so far but since then I haven't been online much but I will be reporting back how things go. One thing, some of the offers aren't available if you're in the UK like me but that seems to be the same with all of these GPT sites. However, if you can get onto the forums they are putting together a list of their UK members which I presume is so they can secure some offers for us... good news for me and some of you guys too! There is a link on Nothing Fancy... to a TT forum thread with offers for the UK.

As always, let me know your thoughts on all of this. Comment, will ya!!

Linkreferral.com

I signed up to linkreferral.com a few days ago, mainly as a way of getting some traffic. Basically, you have to put either a text link (which I have) or a button link on your site which helps you as Google's spiders follow it. Also, you can view other members' sites (up to 30 a day) and review up to 5 a day of them. Also, you get ranking for making forum posts (1 a day gets you a little boost). You don't have to view 30 sites and review 5 and make 1 post as you will get bumped up your category in their directory a place or two for any of these activities. You can refer others also, however I have found that the best part of Linkreferral for me so far is that by doing these and getting higher in the directory you find that others write reviews of your site. Some of these are a few words as they are doing it for the reason above BUT ... some people actually take the time to give you an appraisal which is valuable feedback on what you are doing right or wrong. You can get that by asking your friends or family but they may well just say what you want to hear, when it may be awful and need lots of constructive criticism.

If you are here through Linkreferral and are going to write a review may I say a quick thanks!

The people who wrote me a thought out review I will be mentioning in a post and/or putting links to their sites when I get another 5 minutes. The ones with the couple of word reviews will not be receiving the same treatment!

Click thru me to give it a whirl, and let me know how you get on. I will reply to all people who contact me on this site.

MyLot

I signed up to MyLot a few weeks ago. It seems to be similar to mySpace etc with one major relevant difference... you get paid to participate. Yes, that's right, starting discussions and posting gets you a few cents. I've started a couple of discussions and earned a little for it. Okay, 7 cents so far!! In fairness I haven't been participating much exactly, but I will get around to it and report back on my earnings. Sign up here and start earning yourself, and let me know how you get on.

Agloco ... worth sticking with, or full of s**t ?

I signed up for Agloco recently because it sounded like a lot could be had from it. The offer of free shares had to be worth a spin, it's all for free eh? Well, maybe not after all. Surfing blogs I have come across a whole thread with some pretty disastrous sounding news for members. Basically, it looks like members will be getting next to no cash, delayed payments at best, and the shares will be next to worthless.

A good starting point for those interested is Kumiko's Cash Quest and that post is just one of many on the site. I've followed links from Kumiko's blog and it doesn't look good. I'll leave my affiliate links up where I have them, if only to see what happens first hand. It doesn't look like anyone will get hurt so until I hear otherwise I'll stay in.

Do have a good read of Kumiko's blog if you're interested in making money from blogging / webmastering because it's an excellent looking resource from someone who is apparently succeeding in doing this.

First Post

Well hello and welcome to Yet Another Money Making Blog Quest.

What's it all about? If the title didn't give the game away it's my attempt at making some money out of running a blog. There are loads of blogs that exist purely for this purpose so hence the "Yet Another" bit!

How do you make money from a blog then? Well, signing up for affiliate schemes and such and then getting click throughs and signups / sales is what it's all about.

I'll be posting progress reports periodically so that you can see which schemes perform and which don't, and of course sign up under my link to the good ones!

Please bookmark me or whatever you use, and check back regularly. Comments can be left by anyone but are moderated so if you're trying to sell Viagra save your time :P

That will do for the First Post. More later.
